Monalisa Bhonsle, a 16-year-old girl from the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, rose to national prominence after a photograph of her selling garlands at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj went viral. Her striking features and natural charm captivated the internet, leading to widespread attention and a significant turn in her life.

Following her viral fame, Monalisa faced challenges, including harassment from selfie-seekers, which compelled her family to leave Prayagraj. Despite these difficulties, her newfound recognition opened doors in the entertainment industry. Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra discovered her and offered her the lead role in his upcoming film, The Diary of Manipur, where she will star opposite Amit Rao, the brother of actor Rajkummar Rao. 

Mishra was drawn to Monalisa's innocence and simplicity, qualities that he believes will resonate with audiences. He arranged for her to undergo acting workshops in Indore, followed by further training in Mumbai, to prepare her for the role. The film's production is set to commence with initial shoots in London, followed by extensive filming in Manipur.
