At the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), held on May 26 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift, despite being nominated in six major categories, did not secure any awards. This outcome was unexpected for many, given her history as the most-awarded artist in AMAs history, with 40 wins prior to this event .



Swift was nominated for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Favorite Pop Album for "The Tortured Poets Department," Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Touring Artist, and Collaboration of the Year for “Fortnight” with Post Malone. However, she did not attend the ceremony and did not win in any of these categories .


The night was dominated by Billie Eilish, who won all seven awards she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for "Hit Me Hard and Soft" . Other notable winners included BeyoncĂ©, Janet Jackson, and BTS's 



Swift's absence and lack of wins led to disappointment among her fanbase, the Swifties, who had also hoped for an announcement regarding "Reputation (Taylor's Version)." Speculation had been rife about a potential reveal during the AMAs, but no such announcement was made .


The 2025 AMAs faced criticism for the absence of major stars, including Swift, and for what some described as a lackluster event. Many award recipients, including Eilish, accepted their honors via pre-recorded messages, suggesting scheduling conflicts . The event's move to CBS and its scheduling on Memorial Day were also points of contention .



In contrast, Swift had a successful run at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier in the year, where she won nine awards, including the prestigious "Tour of the Century" for her Eras 


While the AMAs did not add to Swift's accolades this year, her influence and success in the music industry remain significant, and fans continue to anticipate her future projects and announcements.
