Smita Sabharwal, the Secretary to the Government of Telangana for Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs, has articulated a comprehensive vision for the 72nd Miss World pageant, set to be hosted in Telangana from May 7 to May 31, 2025. Her approach emphasizes a blend of cultural richness and modern development, aiming to present Telangana as a vibrant and multifaceted destination on the global stage.​

Sabharwal envisions the pageant as a platform to showcase Telangana's deep-rooted cultural heritage. She emphasizes that beauty transcends physical appearance, reflecting the state's traditions, festivals, and craftsmanship. The event will highlight Telangana's handloom legacy, including Pochampally ikat, Gadwal sarees, and Narayanpet textiles. Participants will have opportunities to engage directly with artisans, gaining insights into the intricate craftsmanship that defines these textiles. ​

Showcasing Tourism and Infrastructure

Beyond cultural elements, the pageant will serve as a means to promote Telangana's tourism potential and infrastructural advancements.
