Man who discovered his kids were not his wins divorce

Chen Zhixian and Yu Hua, a couple from Dexing City in Jiangxi Province, China, experienced a tumultuous marital journey that culminated in a highly publicized divorce. They married in December 2007 and went on to raise three daughters together.

Chen, a long-distance truck driver, was frequently away from home, entrusting the household and child-rearing responsibilities to Yu. In March 2022, Chen's suspicions were aroused when he observed Yu leaving a hotel with another man. This incident prompted him to question the paternity of their youngest daughter, born in 2018. Subsequent DNA tests revealed that none of the three daughters were biologically his.

Further investigations uncovered that Yu had given birth to a fourth daughter in November 2022, fathered by a man surnamed Wu, with whom she had been having an affair.  In light of these revelations, Chen filed for divorce and sought compensation for emotional distress. The court proceedings concluded with Chen being granted custody of the two eldest daughters, while Yu relinquished claims to their shared property and was ordered to pay monthly alimony.

This case attracted significant attention on Chinese social media, with many expressing sympathy for Chen's situation. Despite the personal turmoil, Chen has expressed a desire to move forward and rebuild his life.
