On March 14, 2025, Dolly Parton made her first public appearance since the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, at the launch of Hollywood's 40th season in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Addressing attendees at the Celebrity Theater, Parton expressed her enduring love for Dean and gratitude for the support received from fans. She shared, "Of course I will always love him, and I'll miss him, but I wanted you to know that I will always love you." 

During the event, Parton also performed "Celebrate The Dreamer In You" and participated in the opening day parade, receiving warm cheers from the audience. 

This appearance came 11 days after Dean's passing on March 3, 2025, at the age of 82. The couple had been married for nearly 60 years, maintaining a private relationship throughout their union. 

In memory of her late husband, Parton released a new song titled "If You Hadn't Been There," expressing her deep appreciation for their time together. 

She also took to Instagram to thank fans for their messages, cards, and flowers, acknowledging the overwhelming support during this difficult time. 

Parton's appearance at Dollywood not only marked a significant personal moment but also celebrated the enduring legacy of the theme park, reflecting her resilience and dedication to her fans and community.
