Raised in Bharatpur, Rajasthan—a region with one of the lowest female literacy rates in India—Ahana was brought up by a single mother who valued education and equality. Her mother's unwavering support enabled Ahana to pursue her ambitions without societal constraints. She excelled academically, earning a degree from IIT Bombay and later an MBA from Harvard Business School. 

Professional Beginnings

Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Ahana gained valuable experience working with renowned brands such as Procter & Gamble and General Mills. These roles provided her with insights into the consumer goods industry and laid the foundation for her future endeavors. 

Founding Open Secret

In 2019, driven by a personal mission to "un-junk" India's snacking options, Ahana founded Open Secret. The inspiration stemmed from witnessing her mother's challenges in providing healthy snacks and observing similar struggles among modern parents. Open Secret aims to offer nutritious and tasty alternatives to traditional snacks, addressing a significant gap in the market. 

Challenges and Triumphs

Ahana's entrepreneurial journey faced personal and professional challenges. In March 2021, she experienced the profound loss of her mother, a pivotal figure in her life. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, Ahana chose to channel her grief into her work, returning to her mission with renewed vigor. Under her leadership, Open Secret has achieved significant milestones, including securing Series A funding in July 2021 and Series B funding in June 2022, led by Ananta Capital.
