The net worth of Vasundhara Oswal
Vasundhara Oswal, born in 1999, is the elder daughter of Indian-origin Swiss industrialist Pankaj Oswal and his wife, Radhika Oswal. She was raised across India, Australia, and Switzerland, and earned a bachelor's degree in finance from a Swiss university. During her studies, she founded PRO Industries and currently serves as its Executive Director. Under her leadership, the company established East Africa's first grain-based extra-neutral alcohol (ENA) production facility.
In addition to her role at PRO Industries, Vasundhara holds the position of Director General at Axis Minerals, overseeing finance and government relations. She has been instrumental in modernizing industrial practices, emphasizing sustainability by integrating technologies like 100% wastewater recycling and CO₂ capture for resale to the beverage industry.
Beyond her business endeavors, Vasundhara co-founded "Stop The B," an anti-bullying campaign, with her younger sister, Ridi Oswal. This initiative provides a platform for young individuals to speak out against bullying and has garnered international attention, including a speaking opportunity at the UNESCO World Anti-Bullying Forum.
The Oswal family is known for their substantial wealth. In 2023, they acquired "Villa Vari," a luxurious estate in Switzerland's Vaud canton, reportedly valued at approximately ₹1,649 crore (around $200 million). This property, spanning 40,000 square meters, was previously owned by Christina Onassis, daughter of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.
In October 2024, during a routine visit to her company's factory in Uganda, Vasundhara was detained by local authorities in connection with a missing person investigation. Her family has contested the allegations, asserting that they are baseless and politically motivated. They have appealed to both the Ugandan government and the United Nations for her release.
Vasundhara Oswal's journey reflects a blend of entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to social causes, and a focus on sustainable industrial development.
