Chum Darang, born on October 16, 1991, in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, is a multifaceted Indian personality known for her contributions as a model, actress, entrepreneur, and social activist. She began her journey in the world of beauty pageants at the age of 16, securing the title of Miss AAPSU in 2010. Her pageantry accolades include being a finalist in North East Diva 2014, second runner-up in Miss Himalaya 2015, and winning Miss Tiara India International 2017, where she also earned the subtitles 'Miss Sports Gear' and 'Miss Best National Costume'. 




Transitioning to acting, Chum made her debut in the Amazon Prime Video series 'Paatal Lok' in 2020. She gained significant recognition for her role as Bhumi Pednekar's love interest in the 2022 film 'Badhaai Do', a performance that was praised for its sensitivity and authenticity. The same year, she appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', portraying a supporting character alongside Alia Bhatt. 




Beyond her entertainment career, Chum is an entrepreneur, owning 'Cafe Chu' in her hometown of Pasighat. She is also recognized for her social activism, particularly in women's empowerment and environmental conservation, earning acknowledgment from the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh for her efforts.
