Princess Astrid of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este, was born on June 5, 1962, in Brussels, Belgium. She is the second child and only daughter of King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium. She is the younger sister of King Philippe, the current King of Belgium, and the older sister of Prince Laurent.

Education and Early Life

Princess Astrid studied at the Institut de la Vierge Fidèle in Brussels and later continued her education in Switzerland and the United States. She pursued further studies in history and art.

Marriage and Family

On November 22, 1984, she married Archduke Lorenz of Austria-Este, a member of the Habsburg-Lorraine family. Following her marriage, she was also granted the title Archduchess of Austria-Este. The couple has five children:
