 Parineeti Chopra to make OTT debut with new Netflix thriller.

Parineeti Chopra is set to make her debut on Netflix with the upcoming thriller "The Girl on the Train," directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. This film is an official Hindi adaptation of Paula Hawkins' 2015 bestseller and its subsequent 2016 Hollywood version starring Emily Blunt. In this narrative, Chopra portrays Mira Kapoor, an alcoholic and troubled divorcee who becomes entangled in a murder investigation after witnessing something unsettling during her daily train commutes. The ensemble cast includes Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, and Avinash Tiwary. Originally slated for a theatrical release in May 2020, the film's premiere was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now scheduled to release directly on Netflix on February 26, 2021. 

Reflecting on her role, Chopra expressed that this project allowed her to explore a different facet of her acting abilities, stating that she was "craving something different." 

 Director Ribhu Dasgupta shared his enthusiasm for delving into this genre, highlighting the film's exploration of emotions such as rejection, loneliness, and voyeurism. 

This project marks Chopra's first collaboration with Netflix, signaling a new chapter in her career as she ventures into the digital streaming space.
